Urmanczy Castle

Urmanczy Castle

The castle, belonging to the Urmanczy family, was built between 1903-1906. The function proposed for this building, during the communist regime, was that of a local hospital, from where the interior compartmentalization changes took place.
In 1998 it was taken over by the County Museum. The ethnographic museum functioned in the castle and the Rapsodia Călimanului dance ensemble also operated here. After taking over, the Urmanczy family began research and renovation activities.
Currently, the castle is without function, but can be visited on request.
